Harold Chen assists international companies in issues relating to setup and/or doing business in China including structuring investment, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts, expatriate relocation, employment management, trade union, FCPA/compliance investigation and training, and dispute settlement.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chen worked as an associate in the Shanghai office of an international law firm where he focused his practice on corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, Sino-foreign joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. He worked on commercial contracts and dispute resolution for companies in variety of industries. Mr. Chen also assisted clients on a variety of employment-related issues including termination of contracts, severance negotiations, labor arbitrations, drafting and reviewing labor contracts, employee handbooks and other human resource policies, and employment of expatriates.
Previously, Mr. Chen was a senior associate with a U.S. based international law firm. He also practiced as a licensed Chinese lawyer representing clients in criminal and civil litigation matters.
